How do I set up printers on Android?
Each Android tablet keeps its own printer list, so set up printers on every tablet that needs to print.
Before you start:
- A thermal receipt printer that uses ESC/POS, with 58mm or 80mm paper loaded
- Know how it connects: built-in (Sunmi), Bluetooth, USB, or network (LAN or Wi-Fi)
Set it up in Sidro:
- On the Android POS, tap the More tab. Under Station, tap Thermal printers.
- Tap Add profile and type a Profile name, for example Front counter or Kitchen.
- Under Transport, tap how the printer connects: BUILT-IN, BLUETOOTH, USB, or LAN. BUILT-IN only shows on devices with a built-in Sunmi printer and needs no pairing.
- Fill in the connection: pick your paired Bluetooth printer, pick your connected USB printer, or type the printer's IP address for LAN.
- Under Paper, choose the Paper width (58mm or 80mm) that matches your paper roll.
- Tap Save profile.
- Under Printer roles, tap your printer under Receipt printer. Also set Fulfillment printer for kitchen or bar tickets, and Batch summary printer if you want it on a different printer.
Test it:
- Under Saved profiles, tap Test print on your printer.
- The printer should print a short slip that says "Sidro POS test print" and the profile name.
- Tap Done.
If the test print fails, read the message on screen and see What does Test print failed mean? For step by step help, see the Bluetooth, USB, and network printer guides.
