How do I set the paper width or fix receipts that print wrong?
Paper settings are saved in each printer profile on that tablet, in the Sidro POS Android app.
Open the printer profile: tap the More tab, then Thermal printers, then Edit on the printer.
Check these settings:
- Paper width: choose 58mm or 80mm to match your paper roll. Sidro then sets Characters per line for you (32 for 58mm, 48 for 80mm).
- Characters per line: lower it a little if text runs off the edge.
- Cut mode: partial, full, or none. Choose none if your printer has no paper cutter.
- Lines before cut: extra blank lines so the last line clears the cutter. Usually 5 to 8.
- Code page: leave cp437 unless letters or symbols print wrong. You can try cp850 or utf8.
- Raster fallback for unsupported scripts: leave it on, so characters the printer cannot print come out as an image instead of a question mark.
- Tap Save profile, then Test print.
Common fixes:
- The last line is cut off: raise Lines before cut.
- Lines are too wide or break in odd places: check Paper width first, then Characters per line.
- The peso sign prints as P (for example P150): this is normal. Most receipt printers cannot print the peso sign, so Sidro prints P.
